A Sinner's Cry

A Sinner's Cry

A Sinner's Cry

I really don’t know where we are going tonight

Is the darkness enough to hide our sins?

  The moon is glowing….

                                       Too bright

               It’s blinding my sight

                              Can you stand it?

Somewhere amidst the naked trees

Standing like veins against the night sky

I can hear you child crying

               He’s screaming…………

                                   He is burning with fever

He wants his father

                   (Please you should go)

Your wife is so confused

She’s got her head in her hands

She is dying a slow death

                       Slow poison.

Baby I love you so

  But my head is spinning

In circles, and again in…..I don’t know what’s happening

You were supposed to leave them

But you didn’t….or maybe

               You did.

My veins are blue with a criminal’s blood

                              (Your son is dying…….)

Oh I am such a sinner….

   Your wife…..

No baby, go back

                               Can you hear me?

Yes you, go back

                    They need you

Stop looking at me with those eyes

           Stop please…..

     Please

I can’t……

                                    No…

What pain, I think you did an incredible job of sharing these conflicting emotions. One little correction:

I can hear you child crying "yours" lol, I often make the same error.

maybe in his pain..."she" was his getaway, a place of refuge...maybe if the child was well...the affair would never have happened.

The typical cry of the sweet young girl who finds
herself in lust with a married man--- and she is
aware of his responsibilities at home---- guilt rides
her like a viscious stallion.
Terribly graphic, brilliantly written.
Thank you for an interesting read.

Thank you so much:-):-):-D.
Already the second verse gave me this certain feeling. It's hard to describe.. But sometimes I get it at a calm night when I'm alone. In this mood I think I can see everything. I see the person you describe... I see her as a "sinner" and as a good girl, I can see her other sides.
Sorry, I hope this doesn't sound like absolute sh*t XD

I just think your poem is wonderful and I love poems that give me this certain feeling :)
