Manic Metropolis

A Poem by Levioshock
"

Just a simple quatrain

"
Welcome to the manic metropolis

Where you eyes are always fooled

Just a part of the synthesis

Of this very sick world

Title quickly caught my attention. It could be a book! The darkness of the mind comes unveiled in your words, revealing a depth of pain and angst around us every day.

I enjoyed this; it says quite a bit with so little. I have to say that "sick" doesn't feel right. Maybe "tired," or maybe something sardonic like "shiny." A mere suggestion. Thanks for sharing!

I feel as if I am getting off of a train and I'm being overwhelmed by the sights and sounds. A warning. I can see it all. You gave us just enough to put the imagination to work.
