Crave More Than Ordinary

Crave More Than Ordinary

A Poem by RachelReaper
"

just a little something I thought up

"

Crave More Than Ordinary

Wouldn't you give a million dollars

To have a taste of real danger?

Aren't you sick of normal

And the same robotic daily routine?

Wouldn't you trade safe for adventure?

The everyday for extraordinary?

Boredom for something a little more hazardous?

Do you need to fight for your right to live?

Do you feel compelled to earn

Every morning you wake up to see?

Don't you want to fly

Or for magic to be real

Or to be a part of something more than yourself?

Don't you want to be able to say

You have friends that have gone to the

Ends of the Earth with you

And you laughed and cried and almost died

On the way there?

Don't you want to be able to say you've

Gone to the depths of Hell

Just to come back stronger than ever?

To crave more than ordinary...

But isn't that just what everyone wants?

Author's Note

RachelReaper
just some inquiring question I thought up and questions I could answer "yes" to every one of them. What about you? Do you crave more than ordinary?

Actually, to answer your question, as we get older, we face so much danger and "adventure" (loss of a child, terminal sickness, unemployment, betrayal of friends, divorce) that we often crave to be smitten with boredom, if only for a day. Well written poem, and very thoughtful.

I could say yes to a fair amount of them too. I like this.

thank you for all of your reviews today
I really admire this, I have wrote poetry for five years now
and I have always wanted to write a poem that doesn't rhyme but
still comes across as powerful.
This is an amazing piece.

I crave more than ordinary . Sanctuary can be found in the ordinary , but sometimes it is fun to explore the unordinary .

It reminds me of a friend that used to say: "Between safety and freedom, I choose freedom." She doesn't live accordingly. Do you? Do we?
