Lady bug Land

Lady bug Land

A Poem by Lila_Halliwell

Put me in a bubble

Sprout my words with rhymes

Wash my hands with flower dew

Sun dry them with thyme.

Push me on a timeless swing

Barefoot,

 and eyes closed tight.

Let me wait, to watch it storm

Limbs spread tingling, squinting up,

At rainbow skies with paper ice

Tiny smiles,

Smells held tight.

The winding trail, cleared and lined

The gurgling creek, the falling vines

The untouched snow, the dying snail

Hot summer breeze, and walks at night.

While pink mermaids with purple horns

Untangle vines and count the spots

Of lady bugs,

Turtles, Snakes.

And fireflies that scream from jars,

Keep the secrets

Children tell.
