Burning my Heart~Co write with Flowergirl

A Poem by Lily Mae

Didn’t see your disguise in being pretend lover’s
While you buried my bleeding heart in a burning casket
Leading me on with false intentions of never staying

Like gathering up funeral flowers and taking them home to your wife
You remember her right?
The one you loved to lie about.

Somewhere in the night we fell asleep in each other’s arms
You whispered a name, it wasn’t mine or her’s
I’m pondering how many mistresse’s you’ve damned to hell

In all this what I miss the most is your voice, your breath, the kisses.
The words were lies, your touch selfish and the kisses stolen.
You weren’t worth all it cost me

The lines it wasn’t mine or hers says so much. To add yet another in to the mix when this is already a difficult situation.

Your wife the one you love to lie about makes me think he says he doesn’t love her and is going to leave and it’s all lies

Many times in life people want to put blame on mistress but alas rarely is it the case. Fallen for someone and then learning the truth doesn’t make the feelings disappear.

Great thought provoking poem. I’m sorry I missed this when it was posted. If your like me to pop on and off over long periods of time. I do hope you return

Hello dear Lily. I miss your work.
"Somewhere in the night we fell asleep in each other’s arms
You whispered a name, it wasn’t mine or her’s
I’m pondering how many mistresse’s you’ve damned to hell"
I did like the above lines. Do the all of us wish our lost lovers to be damn to hell? Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry. I did enjoy.

Such a heartfelt ... sad tale,
so often lived by so many ...
you have summed up these emotional highs ... and lows
succinctly, poignantly and honestly.
Hopefully the experience has not jaded you, but rather has taught you, and that after all is all we can do...learn and get back up...
Your write tells me you have ... and I'm happy about that. It's good to read your works again, Lily Mae. I truly was taken by this one.
