NEVER A QUEEN

NEVER A QUEEN

A Poem by Ling3r

She was no queen
Not meant to have a king
Not meant to be seated at a throne
To point and rule

She was a warrior
Meant to go into battle
To be at war with darkness

Fighting with every ounce of soul
Passion dripping from her fingertips
For all things and beings
For which she treasured

No crown
No robe
No scepter

A helmet of knowledge
A chest plate of courage
A sword with blessings of the wise
And curses of the foolish

She will continue
With tangled hair
Burning in her eyes
And dirt under her nails

Whether there be another like minded warrior
To withstand the scarring of storms
Or not

Forever a warrior
Never a queen
