Everything Seen

Everything Seen

A Poem by Wild Willow Blue
"

Such a nice way of putting it..

"

Clothes on the dresser

clothes on the stair

Shadows on the nightstand

and cobwebs in her hair

Love’s forgotten pistol

love’s forgotten chime

The ticking of a clock

and the spinning of a dime

Smashed up light bulbs

smashed up dreams

A lover’s gorgeous black dress

ripped at the seams

Blood on the table

blood on the windows

Flowers in a pretty vase

heads on feathered pillows

Speak no more of this

speak no more of that

He lays down beside the one he loves

as he flicks away the match

Nicely done.
For some reason, I also read it as if the lover sets his loved one on fire.
Good job. Nice imagery.

It must be the mood I'm in, but I read this as a murder of the lover because of some tragic misdeed done by her...the reverse in "The Burning Bed" type scene. Death and destruction...so vividly written and expressed with that last line. Almost as if he has no remorse for the actions he took to express his anger. Your heart has some deep passage ways to it...tunnels that stretch out tapping into more caverns within one emotion. This was a very good story in such a short piece. You can feel, see and hear with just a few short descriptions... :)

I loved the rhythm in this piece its just steadily brings you through the poem until you hit a brick wall of an ending that changes everything you were thinking before

This is a great poem, really nice way to describe that. Nice shift and the last line was a keeper. "As he flicks away the match" just really changes the perspective. Nicely done
