Someone Tell Me Why

Someone Tell Me Why

A Poem by Beth Lindsay
"

Life doesn't always goes your way. For some, Life is more a constant game of war than rainbows after a thunderstorm.

"

Am I the one in the wrong

Am I going against the tides

Singing to another song

Am I the one with errors in my way

Living life day by day

If not, then why

Why does the world seem to turn its back to me

Why isn’t my story not meant to be

Why can’t things flow the same way as plans

Why am I the only one too weak to stand

Why stand to be knocked back down

Why do I have a voice that has no sound

Someone tell me why

Am I the one with too many dreams

Am I fighting against my destiny

Falling apart at the seams

Am I the one who needs to meet the ground

Start to look around

If not, then why

Why can’t I walk on my own two feet

Why am I always a one man fleet

Why does life refuse to sell me lemons

Why do I always struggle to defend

Why speak, only to mimic the wind

Why is it me who is tossed into a recycle bin

Someone answer me.

If It isn’t me

Someone tell me what it could be

I’m growing blind and can’t see

Any answer to set me free

You are right, life can be seen as a being who can think on its own. For sometimes it feels like one has no control over life and must endure the things that life throws at him/her. Life is a burden which we must carry, for one must read this phrase: 'No pain, no life'. So life cannot be only rainbows, like you indicate in your poem. Life is a battle that goes on endlessly, only stopping when the burden of life has gain to much weight and one is released of his/her burden and may be send to the Aether. I love the way you write, for I feel in my heart that you have a talent which is unique to the world. Not only in writing but also in the other things that you do. We may life in two separate worlds, but your writing has connected me with your soul, for I could see the emotions that lied underneath the brilliance of your poem. Never stop writing and thy should never give up on writing and your dreams. For your talent would go to waste.

Good job :D
