World of Ash and flames

World of Ash and flames

A Poem by Beth Lindsay
"

At some point, when does your imagination become a scary reality? Another Poem on my dream realm.

"

I dream of a world blanketed in flames

A fire which cannot be tamed

I smell the flesh as it burns

Fearing the sight around every turn

I dream of a world where skies are red

Following me everywhere no matter where I fled

Threatening what little sanity that remains

In a world where people went insane

I dream of a world one would compare to hell

A place to horrifying to even tell

Where demons roamed with every crowd

And the screams of panic rings so loud

I dream of a world that I beginning to believe

For it is a world that I can’t seem to leave

Every time I close my eyes I begin to see

The flames, the ashes, and fallen debris
