Ode To Xanax

Ode To Xanax

A Poem by Lipstick_Lesbian

Oh, Xanax, what would I do without you?

While in this pillbox called a plane
My faith in God began to wane
And as the plane shook violently
I feared for my life silently.

When mantras failed to comfort me
And I thought death would come for me
I found one last way to relax:
I reached for my trusty Xanax.

I take a zero point five dose
That might make an ant comatose
But my four foot eleven frame
Can manage it; I feel no shame.

In fact I'm filled with adoration
For this lovely medication
Because it does what few things can:
Convinces me that I'm a fan

Of floating on and through the clouds
That wrap the plane in big white shrouds
That toss and turn me like a cradle
Never smooth and never stable.

Now I sit back down again
Warm, woozy and very zen
And as I lay me down to sleep
I give this pill my fears to keep.

girl, YOU HAVE THE BEST METRICA I HAVE SEEN SO FAR IN THIS WEBSITE !!! Seriously, i could even sing it in my mind !! Seriously, your metrica is outstanding, plus you made this poem even "better-sounding" by using a rhyme scheme (AABB) you followed from the first verse to the very last one, and a great use of the words' sounds :)

Don't think I've ever read one about Xanax before. I like the humorous tone you've implied throughout and your rhymes were impressive and not forced. Well done.

very nice poem reflecting love and passion as well as appreciation to something that can help even if that thing has no feelings! it reflects how much you are thankful and sensitive. i like the flow of words so much. i have really enjoyed reading it

"I take a zero point five dose / That might make an ant comatose" That sentence made me laugh. The humour of it all, the aliveness and the upbeat made it really addictive. A nice poem for a nice drug lol! "But my four foot eleven frame..." DAMN, I'm 6'4"5!

Damn near a prayer. Both well written and smart. Real sweet beat to it and a flow that moves it along at a cracking speed. Real sweet work
