That Girl

That Girl

A Poem by Tiger-chan

When you try to be so strong, you end up breaking.

It hurt. Like millions of needles, piercing into her skin.

Betrayed would be a good word, to described the feeling she was having. Something that doesn’t come lightly.

She dropped, letting herself go limp on the floor. Her tears would not come, could not.

She refused to be so weak.

Her body became numb from the cold, as she stayed paralyzed on the ground.

Then, she dropped her head, refusing to face the world anymore.

The girl who seemed unbreakable, broke.

Let herself go into a million pieces.

The girl who seemed strong, crumbled.

Down to the lowest level.

The girl who always laughed, cried.

Cried out to anyone caring to watch over her.

The girl who stayed up so high, fell.

Fell down to earth.

The girl who never stopped trying, gave up.

Gave up everything she had worked so long to gain.

She dropped a fake smile as a tear ran down her cheek and she whispered to herself:

“I can't do this anymore”

Author's Note

I realize I have horrible sentence structure in this, get over it. The point is to make it feeling, if it was perfect sentences, it wouldn't be very feeling and descriptive, now would it. Flames not welcome, constructive help and advice is. If you like it REVIEW!

I know that girl. I live in her body. You did a spectacular job of painting her. We all know her, to be sure. Did you mean in the last line "I can't do this, anymore?"
