Questioning His Authority

How is there justice, 

Or mercy in life?

Its always the innocent

Ones that die. 

The lives that do good,

To every person they see.

 Caused to depart, 

Be the first to leave.

How is it fair?

How is it right? 

They never questioned, 

His powerful smite. 

And here I am, 

Questioning away, 

I'll be back tomorrow, 

I'll live out the day.

Is it wrong,

To be so confused? 

Because I don't understand. 

I don't have the same views. 

It doesn't make sense, 

Why these people die. 

Where's my explanation? 

Is it all a lie?

My heart goes out

To the friends and family, 

Innocent lives taken, 

By a higher authority. 

Forever missed,

And dearly loved,

I hope there's a place, 

To live on above.

Author's Note

I'll make this very clear, I AM A CHRISTIAN. I believe in god. I would never say he doesn't exsist. But there are things in life that are unexplained. Like, the murderers and rapists out there killing people are still alive, but a 51 year old man with four kids, and a wife of 27 strong years dies while driving to work? Out of nowhere, this family loses a valuable member, a husband and a dad. It's unfair, to all involved. And yes, I believe there is a god, but why? A man, Bruce Bechthold, was killed by a drunk driver, instantly, when his van was flipped and he was ejected from the vehicle. He left behind everything! And it wasn't his choice. The more unfair part, is the drunk driver walked away without a broken bone. I'm sorry if you don't agree with this writing, but I just had to get my feelings out. I may look over it and realize I don't agree either, but I do as of right now. I wish the lord would answer when I ask why? It would be easier to understand. It sucks not knowing.

Though I dont have the same veiws as you, I understand your points and I respect them sometimes even when its hard all we can do is hope that someone is watching over use even though from down here it seems unfair I love this poem it is very amazing great job.
