Thorny Red Rose

Thorny Red Rose

A Poem by LivingDeath

A thorny red rose
lays in my path
down the road I walk.

Closer and closer I get
its petals pull me in
until I'm within reach.

Bruised and broke
from the rocky path
I yell from the pain.

I will not touch the rose
I don't wish to feel the thorns
I will resist the petals.

How long will it be
till the red rose wilts,
how long will it be
till I cave in.
