Denial

Denial

A Poem by Liz
"

I just can't bring myself to ask for help.

"

My days are sinking shorter

and my nights are growing longer

The chains are getting tighter

as the water’s becoming colder

But

If darkness is my inspiration

why should I search for light?

"If darkness is my inspiration
why should I search for light?"

Interesting. I think it's a matter of embracing and accepting what we have. Some of us find it difficult to get used to the darkness in our life, groping for the way out towards light.

I liked reading this. Nicely penned 👍

Brilliant! In just a few words you portry a condition and an attitude. I liked it very much.

Sometimes a little extra time in the dark helps us appreciate the light. You shut the poem off quickly - just like shutting off the light...well done!

Some of us need darkness to think and write. To know peace and calm. I like the thoughts and the question at the ending. Thank you Liz for sharing the excellent poetry.
