Liar

Liar

A Poem by Lin
"

This is based off of true daily events. It’s crazy how easy it is.

"
You look into my eyes
And see how I have died

You ask if I’m okay
I quickly throw on a face
In an attempt to look great

And say ‘I’m fine’
‘Just got something on my mind ‘

You walk away
Not realizing
How badly I’m lying

And, the hurt intensifies when "you walk away." When people ask if we're okay, it's obvious we're not, and when they don't care enough to hang around and discover the truth, the essence of a real relationship, the pain reverberates through our body. I get it. This poem speaks to most of us.
