Phases

Phases

A Poem by Loribeth215

Loving you

in stages

like an illness

progressing in phases.

first comes

the denial

"I don't need you."

"I don't want this drug."

from your lips, the touch of your mouth

binds to my flesh, a dark magic.

then this craving

for you to fill the space

between us

and I shake

and say I'll never come back for more.

and then---- the crash

I accept it

I can't be without it

I want what I want

you have chosen me

you have taken away my last protest

and then comes the ending

as all things must have.

the loving never goes completly

but it changes

it waits to infect

the blood of a new host.

love the infusion of metaphors here, love as a drug and an infection.. one cannot resist you describe the stages of fighting temptation wonderfully then the twist at the end showing how this deadly love never ends but simply mutates and evolves to infect another. well laid out my friend.

infectious love...
although from the poem it sounds more like an addiction than a love,
a lust for someone.
nice write.

Wowwww.
Just... wow.
This is pretty intense. I like it. Great write. (:

Though, at the end 'completely' is spelled wrong. :] Just wanted to let you know.
