Visions From the Ceiling Fan

Visions From the Ceiling Fan

A Poem by Lorraine Pearson
"

"thoughts on my mind while watching the blades go round"

Visions From the Ceiling Fan

…And
I passed through
This world
Felt I'd fallen
From grace

Not by
Things that I'd done
But
What I let go

To waste.

I was pardoned
This century
Not waiting for hell
It's just
That I had
This ditty
To tell:

When dying
And living
Is
One and the same
And
Separating the two
Feels like
Splitting the brain
Then
Accepting death
Is what
Livings about
Mastering that is:

Peaceful
Way
Out.

When we choose to accept what we have been 'handed' in life and continue from there...than all decisions after that never seem as futile....

Life is ever so precious...

It's amazing where inspiration comes from sometimes : >)

The last stanza makes me squirm a little because it could mean a couple of different things, depending on your mindset. Is it the peace that comes through accepting and preparing for the inevitable? Or is it choosing an attractive method of hastening the end in an effort to gain the peace you so desire?

I hope the former because having been near the ragged edge of the latter once or twice, I can tell you it just "ain't that perdy". There is so much to live for, regardless of the temporary situations we slog through from time to time.
Please forgive this shameless plug and see my "Deep Inside" for a little more on this...
