Not Good Enough

Not Good Enough

A Poem by Mae Morales

It seems to me that I can't be what everyone wants or needs. It took me awhile that I'm not here to please everyone, only myself.

I'm sorry mother deary that I'm not what you want

Sorry I'm not what you thought

I'd ought to be

I'm me

Isn't that good enough for you?

You want perfect?

I try

I really do

Theres no pleasing you is there?

Can't you see?

I'll never be that girl

The girl you dreamed I'd be

I'm me

Love me for who I am

And don't hate me for who I'm not

I'm me, love me please.

I'm almost your typical 17 year old girl, yet the words I write down are the feelings of me that are yet afraid to come out into the real world, afraid that everyone might judge so harsly that I shoul.. more..
