My Blue

My Blue

A Poem by Laura Kate
"

The wind is the colour blue

"
I close my eyes
and I smell the sea
the salt entwined
with the coast's gentle breeze.

It dances around me,
it circles my face,
it jumps off my shoulders,
it wants me to play.

And with her she brings,
the purest of blue
just one shade less turquoise
than the great blue lagoon.

She holds her blue tight,
in a border of light,
yet the blue moves so freely,
and goes wherever it pleases

And the light travels with it,
not just to keep it safe,
but so that you will be able to feel it,
the wind's soft embrace.

So I thank you, my blue,
for reminding me,
that life moves around me,
continuously.

And I'll cherish you,
and I'll run with you,
and I'll dance
wherever you take me

My breath,
my life,
my blue.

dear LauraKate... to embrace the wind and feel the blue of life
on the destiny of horizons... you have a gift of persuasion when
colours of blue blend with emotions. truly, Pat

So bland a day, hoping for a little blue to creep in)
reading this wonderful, visual poem, i felt the blue...
reminded me of being in Tobago...the perfect blue we swam into snorkeling...
and loving every moment of that...such peace in that water...and all the sea life putting on a show.

I'm so happy to hear that
Beautifully whimsical and in touch with nature and the earth. I love the free flowing nature of this even if there seems to be a mix of free verse and rhyme.
