A Chain of Gold

A Chain of Gold

A Poem by Laura Kate

Our chain is golden

luminous glints run through me

parallel

to the metallic gleams

running through you

sy m|m etry

with its single knotted end

keeping hands in hands

the eyes' gazes fixed

and lips longing

the chain grows

only ever more

weightless

as time grows longer

and distance

becomes stronger

our chain is long and heavy

but it is golden

when hands remain in hands...love is weightless even when it isn't--

this is a beautifully constructed poem..."sy m/m etry"
the circle....like the gold chain around the neck...but hangs gracefully.
