As Long as the Sun Will Rise

As Long as the Sun Will Rise

A Poem by Louis McKraker

Should I find I have any tears left?
I think I will keep them close and safe.
Though all around me may weep,
I think I will save mine for another day--

Perhaps, a day when that is all I have left.
Or, a night when, instead, I should have slept.

Not to imply that I am dead inside.
On the contrary, I am very much alive--
And much to my own surprise,
Filled with wonder and curiosity tonight.

Because, I feel--As long as the sun will rise--
I will find hope and joy beyond all compromise.
