This Could Easily Be Hell

This Could Easily Be Hell

A Chapter by Louis McKraker

I come from the south―

Far below Heaven's gate―

With excursions sewn to my mouth,

And an unseen force setting my pace―

A nascent force without name or face―

I saw devils abound―

There are devils aplenty―

That move without sound,

And leave us feeling empty―

Feeling in need of mending―

Under the beating sun,

Where no kind voice sets sail―

Where no heartfelt meddle is spun―

This could easily be hell―

This world, in which we dwell.

I liked the honest thoughts and the ending. Reading your work today. You make me want to write. Thank you Louis for sharing the amazing poetry.
