Independence

Independence

A Poem by Louise Winter

I'll lock the doors and throw away the key;
No one on Earth will ever tell me who to be.
Forever my own person
I won't follow any trends
Otherwise, you know, I'll reach a dead end.

It is not a dream of mine to end up like the rest
I want this world to bring out my best.
I will never give in, to the pressure of those
Who laugh at my hair, and pick at my clothes.

Very good. It's sad how so many are shut down from being themselves. We aren't made to impress, because we are all the same, stupid sinners. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your review! And it's my pleasure!
I love that you use simple words to give a powerful message. This also gives the impression that you truly don't care to impress others.

Short and sweet and I really enjoyed reading it :)
