Hell of a Life

Hell of a Life

A Poem by LoveAlwaysJB

" Aching to the soul
Beaten to the bone
I’m walking away from the troubles
No, don’t call me a coward
I’m doing what’s right for me

Walking away from the goons of disaster
They’ve got me questioning my faith
Oh, they got me good man
Telling me yes
When I need the No’s to scream

I’m just doing the run around
Back to the same old
Same old bar and same old people
But I’ve got the sun, moon, and the stars
They’re telling me to shine

Because hell is hot and I’m burning up
Pain and regret in the dashboard
Oh, wake me up from this ride
I’m going for the thrill of it all
My values are in the back seat

Yelling at me to brake
But this life is all I have now
I have danger riding shot gun
And everything good for me is in my rear view mirror
I know I should find my way home

Home to the warmness that I need
Home to my blood
Home to my bed that loves me so
Oh, all I need is the North Star
This is just one hell of a life for me”
