Inevitable Disaster

Inevitable Disaster

A Poem by Brian
"

There is nothing more transparent than when a heart beating as one fractures and becomes.. the inevitable disaster.

"

And sometimes the inspiration comes from the deep pangs of loss that reside within smiles remembered and yet are so often forgotten...

"Inevitable Disaster"

Shattered glass
An inevitable disaster
I first felt you fade
When your eyes fell absent
Staring off into space
A weak attempt at
Disappointment masking
I'm not afraid!
Not quite the fool
That in my youth I acted
We should end this now
Because we are a torn out page
With fraying edges
And love is water-based
You cannot spare us from
The inevitable disaster!

Delay the pain?
If only there exists a way
To mend such damage
I would have to pretend
My heart to you
Ever f*****g mattered
Sway in the gulf breeze
Let the cool winds capture
All the beauty that remains
In your winning smile
That kills me today
And shall haunt me
Forever after

We were so very well-placed
The perfect modern display
Of what grandeur love makes
And its inevitable disaster

The pain and emotion in your words is heartfelt. I'm certain anyone who has had their heart broken can relate to your words - I know I can..
Brilliant writing once again Brian. You are very talented.

A sad poem telling of a love story that shattered like the pieces of the glass and just like they prick the fingers, so did the broken love prick the lovers souls.
