Alone

Alone

A Poem by Light

Why am I alone?
This world seems to offer no home
What choice do we have but to turn to stone?
It's the only treatment I've ever been shown
This is life, it seems full of cruelty and hate
Hell, my best friend even told me the noose was my fate
But if loneliness has taught me one thing
It's that you get stronger with each passing sting
As I live through my life, day by day
Sometimes I wonder if there's a reason for the pain
People never show kindness until someone is gone
Then act like that person was great all along
But don't realize their words were the true cause of death
It was the only escape, a bullet offering rest
As I realize these truths, a new one comes to light
People seem to face these truths with spite
All for what? To live with delusional mind?
Where you are always right and no fault to find?
I want my pain to leave, I really do
But being alone takes its toll on you
