A Million Things to Think Of

L.J Bunn

The days are busy,

There’s lots to learn,

School work is endless,

Term after term.

New sums to be worked out,

New books to read,

New words to write,

Dates of history, Religious stories,

And tiresome P.E,

The days are busy, busy, busy.

When I come home, it is warm and bright,

Mum’s made tasty things to eat,

And my room is comforting, tidy and neat,

A space to breath and do nothing,

To feel safe and at ease.

But when it comes to bedtime,

Sometimes my head swirls and twirls,

With all of the new things I have learnt,

Romans in white toga’s in a bustling street,

Egyptian pyramids with stone statue’s align,

Algebra, 90-degree angles and fractions swim by.

A million things to think of.

A million things to try and remember.

A million new things that I been enlightened by,

A million new things that alight,

Alight an idea, a creation, a source of inspiration.

Learning new things, day after day,

Moulding my brain to think and critic what others say.

A million new things  to think of and create,

A million new aspirations I could be.

The days are busy,

There’s lots to learn,

School work is endless,

But so are my dreams with endless possibilities.
