Monkey Attention

The other monkeys gather around the more novel, the more exciting monkeys. What makes some

monkeys more exciting? Rebellion? Saying things you are not supposed to say. Confidence:

projecting this air makes you attractive. Appearing healthy, strong, flexible, youthful,

intelligent, funny. Things that make you a viable mate. Strangeness: bringing something

outside the realm of what most people are used to. The sound of the voice. Excitement in

speech, body language. Emotion: positive or negative strong emotions are attractive. It is

going against a very repressed society. The subjects and areas that elicit these emotions:

drugs, sex, death, violence, illness, divinity, the paranormal, animalism, civil

disobedience, honesty. I don't know if it's attractive to be a good person. It might be.

It might be inherently attractive to be a bad person. Showing weakness, vulnerability. I

don't know exactly what the formula is, but I'll tell you this I have some intuitive idea.

Sometimes it looks so transparent to me. So pandering. Maybe that's just people who focus

just on that. All they focus on is generating the most revenue. I also want to bring to

focus something of the things I think are relevant or awesome. I don't just want to give

people back what they already know. How boring is that?

I like this. I'm not sure it's a poem, but then again, rebelling against what everyone deems a typical poem was, I suspect, what you were aiming for and is what makes it so interesting. :)
