Dealing With Anxiety

My belief is that doing difficult things makes you better at doing difficult things. 

I put myself in places that have cause me anxiety to expand my limits. I believe as you do something more and more it becomes less novel. You become more comfortable with the experience. 

I eat foods that make that taste bad. I turn the shower from hot slowly to freezing cold. I engage strangers in conversation. I do job interviews. I perform at open mics. I masturbate, but do not orgasm for several days in a row.

As I do it more and more I learn how to function in that situation. The situation becomes more mundane. For years I thought I shouldn't talk about difficult things I'm going to do, because it puts more pressure on me when others ask about it later. 

However, I've changed my mindset.

This is just building it up. Making it bigger. Who cares if they ask or don't? People are going to do what they do in a seemingly random fashion. The only time it matters is when you're working on a specific problem that they're involved in. Otherwise, it is random noise. Maybe people care about you, maybe they're jealous, maybe they're trying to make a silence less awkward by talking.

Pay attention to how your thinking about something can affect how it feels to go through the experience. Positively and negatively. It is your decision by your thoughts.
