What We Are

What We Are

A Poem by Kenneth Compton
"

Introspection, Outroversion

"
We are not the sum of our parts
merely the compilation of the experiences that change us
we are what we do with these things,
we are the nightmares we dream,
the secrets we hide,
the lies we hide behind,
smiles frail and frail again,
We are the hopes we crush, we hold, we make with every passing second,
we are the intrinsic, we are the inherent, the unworthy,
the laughs we fake, the pain we mask, the light we bring.
We are the Big Bang, the beginning of all, the end of nothing.
