Rich fruit mingles with savory herbs
        a long and luscious decant
               fresh and fragrant
                  serious and age-worthy

Glasses touch seductively
       swirling Merlot
              empty spaces filled
                   pounding passion of grapes

Acquiesce to the mystery
yield to temptation on the tongue
           touch its world with intimacy
                 feel it invade private places

Urgent thirsty whispers
       dream of concupiscence
            the fruit of the vine
                fetchingly follows

This one's your classic brand of bottled poetry, Lydi. It is one to be preserved till the end of time. Such a sinfully rich poem ...i feel overwhelmed from the aromas, feel ,taste and texture of it. and that's the way it should always be :). Exquisite poetry, Lydi.

Your words are intoxicating this morning Sweet Lydi. Nothing starts my day batter than pouring myself a glass of your poetry. Very nicely done my friend. I love the comparisson and the way your words flow so smoothly.

Thank you very much, Pryde. Lydi**
Wine and poetry can both satisfy the spirit as yearning for that which quenches the thirst for one who seeks the more seductive and passionate side of life is fulfilled - uncork the bottle, wet the palette with droplets of goodness, soothe the soul with this nectar of the Gods!
Beautiful!! I am ready for another glass!!

Excellent piece, and yes, poetry on the tongue...and now on the lips when read.

Lydi, don't blame me, it's the wine... but, my mind went right to the line in the WAR song, "Cisco drinksthe whiskey and Poncho drinks the wine"... being a "Poncho" with a taste for Merlot and Chablis and and and.. well I was taken to"higher" ground reading your poem.. ;0)... love those "empty spaces" filled with "passion (and passionate I would add) of grapes" and "thirsty whispers"... poetry wise Lydi, your cup runneth over "nicely"... now, how about more wine for "Poncho"... ~~redzone

If your poetry were wine it'd be a bottle of 1869 Château Lafite! I love this Lydi, of course I am a vino drinker....so muchly enjoyed! Cheers my friend.
