an obsession

an obsession

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

couldn't take my eyes off the blue eyes in the grocery store...heavy sigh

"

sounding like Friday night
looking like Saturday morning
a little bit
            exciting
more than a little bit
                      intimidating
a walking bowl of delicious
with cobalt blue eyes
can you hear the cacophony of an obsession forming?
there is but one certainty
my fingers will type you tonight

Love the last line. As blue is my favourite colour, I've always wanted blue eyes. But I'm stuck with dark green...maybe that's more reflective of my personality though haha I must have written a million of these poems over years of looking at people that I'll never know, leaving my imagination to fill in the blanks. A charming piece, with a bit of spice as well ;)

Once again your Friday night write sparkles with the excitement of the fourth of July, Lydi. I, too, loved the last line - what a cacophony your typewriter keys must have created as you wrote this poem. Absolutely delightful, you've got another sure winner on your hands!

Oh yes, I love when things like this happen, when someone catches your attention and you just can't shake the thought of them. I love your words here "my fingers will type you tonight". Ha! Great way to end this, and show the writer's obsession. The one you saw sounds absolutely enticing! I love it! Well done!
