Friday Nights and You

Friday Nights and You

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

never too tired for some things!

"

so sleepy
almost too sleepy
to support the blue in my eyes
                         and yet
taking a deep breath
i exhale thoughts of you
till my skin borders on yours
and each letter of every word i type
is a stroke of your hand on special places
a tingle
having nothing to do with a yawn
escapes my lips
i breathe you
now as night pulls its curtain over the blue of the sky
i crawl into that special place
the one in the crook of your arm
undressing my primal desire
for friday nights and you

Been too long since I read a Friday night poem .. and boy, did I miss it! As always the deep romance, wild anticipation and tender sensuality in your words gets me every time. So, so good. I always end up reading your poems a couple of times to enjoy the sensation of your words. :)

Jacob! So happy to see you here again! Thanks for the review. Lydi**
dear Lydi... Art and romance dance in a bed of
expectations when lovers entwine among the
orchestrated strings of passion.
The Blue Danube waltz of butterflies touches
all my senses when reading your poetry.
truly... Pat

The innuendo and sensuality in your poem, that "tingle", makes every night a"Friday" Lydi. But, ah, er... how can I ever type words again without getting slapped??? I mean... wait I know: type, duck, type type, duck, duck and duck again.. it might take me awhile to finish this review Lydi... duck!! Honestly Lydi, and I was going to tell you what a "nice" poem this is.. lol... ;0)

thanks Lydi, I was worried there for a nano second... lol
This is lovely, and those three first lines are just so perfectly composed. Every night should be such, not just Fridays.

Ahhh . . . Those Friday nights . . . Life is good when we can fulfill our desires and this Friday night scenario is but one of the reasons why that is. Your words were magical to the point I was physically there on that Friday night.
