the legend

the legend

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

an unnamed river
flows deep within me

uncharted waters
rapidly cascading
as they hum their siren song

in ambient cyclicity
you plant seeds of desire
on its banks

fluently translating my fantasies
into passionate facts
while writing the legend
of a river

that now sweetly
sings your name

This is quite beautiful, Lydia. It seems as if the one planting is a cartographer of her heart; mapping out the pathways of her endless flowing love.

What appears to be careful word choice and precise positioning of those words somehow creates a thing sublime--or maybe it's the other way around.
In any event, Lydi, "the legend" certainly qualifies as exceptional work.

you are most welcome, Lydi;
Oh wow...what an image you have conjured up here. Unnamed flowing rivers and seeds of desires that sing somebody's name. This is almost mystical in its beauty...it's too much to take in. Really, really special poem here. Your poetic charms just keep getting deeper, my friend.
