a cryptic message

a cryptic message

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by garmash

last night
the moonlight touched my cheek
gently
                just as you used to
today i am full of yesterday’s laughter
studying a mote of dust
suspended in a sunbeam
wondering if this is a cryptic message
from another chapter of my life
one that i never quite closed

Life is a beautiful puzzle. It makes us move on yet keeps taking us back to some places where we dwelt before. Maybe there is something there, some reason beyond our understanding. I found this poem so beautiful in it's musings. ..Thanks for sharing Lydi.

Life is magical and mysterious if we choose to believe so, sending us puzzles and messages we can choose to solve and go after. Who knows, it may just lead us to something we always wanted. Very beautiful write, dainty and sweet.

Bittersweet. Like looking through a kaleidoscope only to find the image keeps dividing... We cling to precious little as time weathers the fine-tuning of our memories.

It is funny how the smallest thing can remind us of the past and then all those what ifs fill our thoughts...
Beautiful poetry and art Lydi.

You are so welcome ... You are always a pleasure to read ...
The more things change
The more they stay the same...

No matter who, how or what you write about
Your incredibly unique style remains constant
without sounding the same or repetitive,
And always so fascinating to read.

Really love this.
