Irma is now a Category 4 hurricane and is headed for Florida. A bit of levity is definitely needed. Not sure how long we will have electricity and cell towers.
She’s hips and bust audacious
Red feeder bands make her blush so
bold
Taking bits of pieces of the
Caribbean with her
And she thinks she’s headed for our
threshold!
She claims her dirty side is not to
be messed with
They say she’s a daredevil out to
conquer our whole state
UPDATE....Thursday, September 14th....just got internet access back. I will catch up with reviews and other's poetry tomorrow. Thank you all for your good thoughts. We were fortunate.

Indeed a frightening situation. I hear Neckar is devastated too. Poor Sir Richard, homeless! My heart goes our to all in the Caribbean, Florida, Mexico, Pakistan and India. It makes me feel ashamed to complain about British weather; but I do lol!
Well penned portrayal of a terrifying situation Lydi.

We are ready, but apprehensive for sure. Thanks for the good thoughts, John. Lydi**
Thinking about all of you. Hope everything is ok. Incredible that you take such a brave view and thumb your nose at possible catastrophe.
Thoughts for all around this planet of ours.

Lydi, this is such a heart-felt, clever poem made courageously light-hearted about Irma, a devastating happening. We Brits use our weather as a main source of conversation, whining and moaning year in and out. Never again!
God bless each and every one of you.
(Would have commented on your poem before now but have had connection problems)

Prayers for you Lydia! Your poem is so clever and 'right back at you!' Gutsy! Personification of Irma is so on-point. I have a home in Florida and am hoping Irma slenderizes her "audacious"-ness. Stay safe my friend!

Riveting expression and creative art.
I admire the use of personification and rhyme scheme.
Irma is very much stirring up in the international news and it's kind of panick situation- people are fleeing or evacuating etc.
The special thing is that it comes from a person stuck there, who can experience it's threat.

PLEASE Miss Irma, keep dancing over the Atlantic "only" free and wild as you desire too!
I pray for You my friend, for all whom are there, for their safety, for God to watch over them all, for Him to guide Irma far away from the lands.... aside of this, Your poem is wonderful and very well written, the best part is the ironic sense, You need it my friend through this.
Sending countless sincere prayers******

Take care my friend.

The west coast of Florida will bear the brunt of her fury. We will still have tropical force winds and a lot of rain. Everything should start late tonight and go through tomorrow. We are ready. We will not have those 185 MPH winds here on the East coast of FL. Thanks so much, Trace...for everything. Lydi**
