just for me

just for me

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by anna razumovskaya "what lies ahead"

it's a hot empty afternoon
the busy surface of my life
threatens to suffocate
till you untangle the clouds for me
casting your spell with once upon a times
and happily ever afters

the highs and lows of life
suddenly make more sense
i guess we all hunger for something
you know that
and you prepare a repast perfect
just for me

we do hunger for something Lydi, and it's a joy to know that someone is making you that meal... and in reading Jacob's comment, who's Grace??? and how did she get into this picture??? ;0)

and I must agree, no one does sensual like you do Lydi, they are always beyond "nice" and could be served as the main course of any meal....

I appreciate your review, Star. Lydi*
We all hunger for something we can't change or want to happen, but we end up in life cluttered, trapped trying to escape what holds us back or doesn't happen. Another marvelous piece as always. @'/:o)

Ah, lovely. "Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death." Rosalind Russel in "Auntie Mame" Enjoy the beauty and excitement in life along with the magic and mystery. Great to read.

What a lovely poem Lydi**. How we need those happy ever afters, especially when the going gets tough. What a difference a special person can make in our lives. How they have the ability to lift us when we are down. We certainly do hunger for things in life. Those that feed us love are the ones that have a very special place in our hearts. Your posted artwork as always lifts the soul as do your beautiful words.

Stunning poetic beauty in these lines...We long for such pleasant interludes on a physically and mentally demanding and tiresome day. Something to rejuvanate us spiritually, to reset us and make us raring to go. Love and sensuality are for me a high point of life, something that makes the world go round. Something that makes the highs and lows worth it. I am falling in love with your poetic voice. To me it whispers, it croons, it soothes. A very appealing voice indeed. The artwork is a feast for the eyes. Kudos!

I loved this poem and you are welcome dear Lydia. My honor to read your work.
It seems that clouds play romantic Minuets as notes mingle along a silver lining where blond tangled curls need a respite from the worry of uncertain clouds where moments are confused and love is waiting in the atmosphere. Gently, Pat

You are so poetic, Pat....always. Thank you for the lovely review. Lydi**
I realy like how both the title of the piece and title of the artwork connect to the words, showing that although we can plan certain aspects of the future and look to certain avenues from the past, we can only ever be the us that is in the now.
We don't need to judge past us, as there are more than enough to do that. We can however learn from our own and ithers mistakes and accept the moment, the us, for what it is, all too brief and ever changing.
As to the future, well... To be continued 😀
