kiss me

kiss me

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

the world is crazy
so don't hesitate
kiss me
take off that mask you wear
see me
for who I really am
fanciful and whimsical
hold my hand
follow the pathway of stars
to the pot of gold
then kiss me
like it's the end of the world

I approve of the message in this poem. :)
Seriously, it's like everything is crumbling around us, and the only thing that's worth fighting for, worth investing is is love - and kisses.

You know it, Laz! Thank you so much for the lovely review. Lydi**
Your poem hits on something that doesn't compute with me . . . that masks may be with us for a long time. There's nobody I want to snuggle , so what you're expressing doesn't hinder me personally, but I really feel for those starting adulthood & not being free to see wholehearted smiles & feel others faces without restrictions. I agree that people need to follow rules & I'm lucky to live in the boondocks where people live far enuf apart so nobody takes precautions. I really don't want to live in this world, which is what I'm catching from your poem. The urge to rip off that mask must be unfathomable at times! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Masks are a way of life now, sadly. Even if we don't like them, we wear them. After all, who loves.. read more
beautiful ... the sentiment well needed these days .. i wrote a poem one time long ago (yt just yesterday) in which i closed with kiss me kiss me kiss me .. it won her over and how i trembled :) we shared a kiss but there was a clearly stated end point .. i didn't care tho .. any heart break was worth that kiss alone ;) great wonderful, elegantly stated, sexy poem Lydia .. a favorite for sure .. Happy Fourth of July my friend!

Seems its the ideal time when kiss. hug, hold, sweet romance and trust are genuine emotions to follow through. It's not a time to take advantage or fling caution to the wind BUT a precious moment to accept time could be short. Think: how to, where to, why and what for and vitally - who with. Too late will be what it means: no kisses ever - if ever were. Lydi, your words nudge thoughts, wind up intentions, whisper 'this is where it's at.. if meant to be. '

I always love your reviews, Emma. Thank you so much. Lydi**
Indeed, the world is crazy at this time. I don't know if it's ending or not, but the call for intimacy is good, whatever.

Words softly insistent, coaxing one to
deny the world and follow the heart' till
one find their heaven...
Love is all about throwing caution
to the winds. Indeed, what's life
without a deep, heartfelt kiss...?
I deeply felt the passion, Ms. Lydi

What a spectacular piece of art, the image and the poem. This is packed with so much imagery and emotion. On the surface, this is an extraordinary greeting card. Beneath the surface, embedded within the words and phrases is a yearning for intimacy, the one thing we've lost this year. That makes it a remarkable poem.

I've been surprised how much different a person looks with only their eyes showing. Though we give much attention to the eyes, especially in poetry, the nose, lips, cheeks, chin make the portrait (as with the art here). We need the whole person to love, and it's sad a virus has denied us that desire, at least for the moment. This poem brings hope. Lovely poem, Lydia.

Interesting poem about showing your true self. Sometimes it's hard being the person you want to be.
