hope and possibility

hope and possibility

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

"once upon a time" by whiskey monday

the calendar pages have fluttered and turned
through this fragile year
a year that reminded us of our mortality
we cannot rewrite the year
for it will soon be a wave on memory's shoreline
horizontal lines will soon meet the vertical
at the right angle of "what if"
so when the orb descends every so slowly
at midnight
it will be time to do a little victory dance
we made it through!
time to start the collage of 2021
be sure you fill yours
with multicolored hope and possibility

happy new year to all my WC friends.
let's hope 2021 is a good year for us all!

and let's hope for a beautiful and memorable collage for 2021...
It has to be filled with possibilities...and this poem is just wonderful
and so full of the promise that we feel this new year might bring.

I like the above lines. We need to lead with kindness, concern and love. Time for the world to heal and defeat the virus. Always a pleasure to read your words and thoughts my dear friend.

Me too dear Lydia and maybe the days of Spring can help us?
I love your very balanced way of approaching what we're all going thru. So many think of 2020 as a year that should be forgotten or deleted, but I believe we need to walk thru all the steps put in front of us in life for whatever lessons we needed to learn! Here's hoping your 2021 is starting off with everyone well & content so far! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Aye, fingers crossed. Many of us are back into lockdown with much of the same promised for January. 10 months ago I was in the Maldives now I'm in " prison" :)
Hope the new year is far better than the one we'll soon be leaving.
Hope you are enjoying the festivities

You always make me smile, Pat....Confucius...you are too much. Thanks for the visit. Lydi*
The pages did flutter Lydi, and little else, other than things scrubbed out that never came to pass and big red crosses that now look like a memorial to all those that didn't make it through to the end. But we live to fight another day and hopefully get to actually do some of the things we jot down on the pages this year. Fingers, knees, toes and ears crossed.
Ps... Wish I wrote down call the chiropractor before crossing all my bits, but at least I now know how origami feels. A d as if this year wasnt bad enough, I've now got an itchy nose I can't scratch 😊
