rhyming nonsense!

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by Stephen Gibb
feeling jittery and jumpy
perhaps a bit tense
twitchy and edgy
till nothing makes sense!
muscles are tight
perhaps even taut
what sort of affliction
is this thing that i"ve caught?
everything annoys me
i'm bothered way too much
i'm bringing darkness
to everything i touch!
not sure what i need
but it's something for sure
perhaps something as simple
as a brand new coiffure!
do you know the solution?
is there a remedy?
if so send it now
and make sure it's quickly!

an appointment with your coiffurist and a nail job might be the ticket luv! what a delightful poem .. easy flow and love the rhyming .. just the right touch of it says i! I have kind of felt that way most of the week ... off center with no wisdom to crack me out of it ... its a disturbing place to be ... fears and doubts can creep in through the seems ... its part of our cycles is what i have decided .. and found that letting it be .. not trying to "kick it out" or meditate it away somehow .. just acknowledging it ... being and observer of it .. it kind of burns itself out and i know i'll be centered once again .. part of me cycle i guess ... great artwork to accompany "rhyming nonsense" together they make all the sense in the world.

Perhaps that massage, a decaf latte, a kitten to pet, a bit of midnight music that moves your soul….maybe you will have better luck than I… great little write here and I know the feeling. ;)

Gee
Tis not the easiest of feats to trot out rhyming verse of any nature, so all that comes out as this has should be read and appreciated :)

This is a bit different from your "normal" (whatever that is)...writes, but I love it! Gave me a smile on my face and a twinkle in my eye. Thank you! ~Sharon

Indeed, Sharon, I rarely rhyme like this. Thanks for noticing. I appreciate the visit. Lydi**
When I get jittery like this, nothing helps like a bout of rhyming! *wink! wink!* Love your playful way of showing an anxiety attack! (((HUGS)))

What first of all is seen as nonsense becomes a multilayered snapshot of living in today's society. I am impressed.

WOW, Ken, thank you so much. Lydi**
get out of that fun house Lydi... has too many of those distorted mirrors... we're supposed to laugh at those oddly shaped images, but they also make us think that's how we actually look, elongated, swuishy and fat, head down to our knees.... but I do have a solution to these jitters... since many fun houses are located at the shore, go for a nice stroll on the beach, play tag with the waves, chase sea gulls or terns, soak upthe sun!!!! works for me at any rate oh and I stay away from fun houses and weird mirrors...lol....

you know what comes next Lydi..... yep it may be a nonsensical and silly poem, but it is a "nice" one.... ;0)

Turning out closets, finding three single shoes; walking in rain, always refreshing to do; sorting old photos, some long forgot - reading old scribbles, most of them rot (!); writing letters instead sending e-mails. In spite of the evil tragedies the past two plus years have brought, perhaps time to do what it normally doesnt have time for.. has almost but not quite compensated for not touching hands or cheeks or lips. No it has not.. but trying to be positive.. maybe a remedy. Maybe not. Perhaps.

I believe we all have a case of cabin fever. With the past year being our new normal, it still doesn't feel quite right to me yet. Perhaps all we can do is to find ways to pamper ourselves, or, we could just go back to bed and be like bears, hibernating till spring...poking out every once in a while, to entertain our muse!
