your eyes found my words

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

your eyes found my words
your fingers answered the unasked
skillfully unknotting my thoughts
by awakening the melodies in my soul

i jumped on a raft made of metaphors
navigating the quicksand of the day
then opening the door to the night

raw rootlets of poetry blossomed into flowers
jagged notes sang themselves into melodies
all because your eyes found my words

such beauty in your poem, Lydi .. i love the riding the quicksands of the day on metaphors ..what better way to navigate sometimes difficult and tricky straights ... it's the lover all poets need says i .. reading our selves with their eyes .. unlocking the energy to create and pour forth things as this .. "Your eyes found my words" ... mmmmmmmmm "jagged notes sang themselves into melodies" .. just gorgeous ma'am .. and i have been meaning to say that your pic choices are always inspiring by themselves and so appropriate for your writing ... i can tell you spend time choosing them .. thanks always for sharing! :)

this is very good.. what a wonderful treasure to find on the day after Christmas.. you know.. the lazy day when we don't care if there is still a bag of wadded up wrapping paper sitting in the corner with torn off name tags and broken strings..

What a wonderful and poignant journey from loneliness to togetherness. It's like finding a friend or a kindred soul through the magic of words. I enjoyed reading this. Simply lovely.

One of the things that made poetry the most fun for me in the beginning was the way some people's comments and reactions gave me the inspiration to write more ... that's what I got out of this wonderful write. Keep on sharing your art. ~Jim

I just love this write Lydi. (raw rootlets of poetry blossomed into flowers jagged notes sang themselves into melodies all because your eyes found my words) That is THE most beautiful poetic stanza I've read in a very long time! ~Sharon
