A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by elana feliciano

open the door to your imagination

no need to wait for the bell to ring

just welcome all those ideas

keep your pen in hand

and your heart open

the muse will send them to you

dip your pen in the inkwell of memory

allow your fingers to soar

through the creative atmosphere

hunt for just the right words

till you revel in the delirium of creativity

you make it sound so easy my friend ... would i were more like you ... alas .. it's what makes you special .. i feel this poem in my heart, mind and bones .. keep that pen handy .. write it on flesh if we must ... sore into the clouds of our imaginations and create ... how very wonderful you are my friend

And we are all thankful that you hold that pen tightly and keep gracing us with your wonderful poetry. Creativity, there is so much on here and in here. Beautifully done.

The Artwork reminds me of Rubik’s Cube of Love. I believe a Hungarian invented Rubik’s Cube.. Hungary is my Heritage.. The Blue Danube…. gently, Pat

I agree with this in theory, Lydi, but sometimes my muse is pouty and difficult. Makes me want to slap the wench.

Laughing here.....want to show her who is boss? LOL Thanks, John. Lydi**
Fabulous artwork you have posted to accompany your words here Lydi**. Loved the metaphor you have used. How us writers wish that door of creativity remained well abd truly open. Sometimes, it manages to close itself.

Indeed, Chris, there are days the door is shut tight and the key is missing. Thank you so much for.. read more
As you know Lydi, I have trouble finding the key to my imagination, but why on earth is the artwork of two Chinese girls whispering and giggling? They know where my key is, but I think I heard them say I have to take twenty guesses before they tell me.😊

If not 21! LOL Thanks for the visit, Lorry. Lydi**
the most important aspect as mentioned in your poem...keep your heart open because that is where the best poetry comes from...not the head.
Oh it is delirium for sure.
Like this read a lot,
