extinction

extinction

A Poem by Lyric

Why is it that we give ourselves hate?
We argue over how we'll end
Well,
Looks like we've chosen our own fate
And looks like it's bigger,
Than everything on all of our plates,
And that's put together
It turns out,
That,
Apparently were not birds of a feather
Because,
Brothers care about their brothers state
They help when they're in trouble,
Pull out their notes,
And ask,
Time place and date?
They don't care who did what yesterday,
Because today and now,
Their wants imitate
Each others
We need to stop comparing ourselves
To our sisters and brothers
Because in the end,
When our fate is clear,
And the only ones who were there for us,
Turn away with a sneer,
Where everyone and everything is enemy
And nothing is dear
In that moment,
On that day
In that oncoming year,
We won't have each other to dry any falling tear,
We'll all stick to ourselves,
With no sorry thoughts for ourselves,
Forgetting each other as we tremble in fear
We're still driving to the cliff,
But the turbulence isn't mere,
And it might be stuck,
But it's not to late to change gear,
Might as well grab that spatula,
And loosen it up,
Because as bad as I don't want to admit it,
There's not room for waiting here,
Grab the oil,
It's already hit the expiration date,
So don't let it spoil
Don't let this dream of redemption disappear
Because
No matter what we to want think
Without each other,
We are all each other,
We're more than just linked
And without each other
We will go extinct
