I've been enlightened to see today
there are to many cracks in my darkness
for the enlightenment to penetrate

This is strangely twisted . . . crack in darkness would seemingly LET IN LIGHT . . . that's why this puts the reader back on his/her heels, trying to figure out what you mean by this. Then I look at your title again & it reminds me of how we go into a situation thinking we're all wise & we have preconceived ideas about where each thing is going . . . that is, blinded by how wise we consider ourselves to be . . . until a poem like this forces us out of our comfortable rut of routine expectations. That's a helluva lot to happen in such a short poem! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
