Shadow/Haven

Shadow/Haven

A Poem by MDP
"

Well.....yeah

"

She sat in the corner of a dark gloomy room

her long dark hair scattered down her back in curls

Her shadow weighed her heavy

Even in the Dark night you could see her silver tears

Each droplet stained with a hateful memory

Descending on the floor like dark angels

She hoped for an escape

A beautiful haven

She squeezed her eyes shut

Hoping to be taken to this life she needed

The final droops pooled on the dark floor

She dreamt of this haven

She felt herself floating there on the wishes she made

The skies so bright and blue

the clouds shaped in perfect tufts

She no longer had a burden weighing on her shoulders

Her eyes began to brighten with the hope she once lost

The cold relentless wind brought her back to reality

As her reddened eyes opened slowly

The tears continued tostreamed from her eyes

And her shadow still weighed heavy
