Poetry Kisses

Poetry Kisses

A Poem by Mylifeinheartbeats
"

A poem about a poetic love that burned.

"

We spent a month wrapped in each other’s words

poetry embraces locking lips

holding one another between sips of ember lullabies

goodbyes unnecessary; our kisses were merely

the touching of fingertips, passion burning in tomes

libraries of our desire climbing higher

through skies that were rarely anything but gold

your legs would curve to mine

our limbs entwined like mystery endings

our novella eyes catching each other by surprise

but bending the script I slipped and scraped my lips across

a story that seemed so much sweeter than us

like reading a novel and finding torn pages halfway through

that’s how I abandoned you; tempted by the siren song

that was nothing more than a flash fiction

a hit and miss in elegant diction; I found I was wrong

I returned to find our library burned

one remaining page with two last words

the end

I do not intend to write again.

Wow. This is full of love and heart break. I to felt like never "writing" again, but life has a way of starting new libraries with us from time to time.
