Children of War

Children of War

A Poem by MOON

All morning I await my fate

I hear guns and the sound of bombs

I fear now the hour is late

This my friend is not passing storms

You no longer shadowy forms

But men all black and eyes of hate

I fear your anger and power

Before you now I shall cower

Hold me on this fragile time span

Crush me in your blood spattered hand

I hold no politics no weight

Doomed ideology of State

Civil war will take me at eight

Shed no tears as I fall in strife

Old men play God with this young life

Shut windows of your soul spew hate

War and ego not a child’s ache

Grown men crushing me in their wake

It's so true and children of the united states use to play guns in the street now it's a desensitized video game keeping score without any idea or remorse what war and death really is..excellent piece

Thank you!
I think war is the ugliest thing humans have ever done. It's tragic.

i dont think this can ever happen..
The whole of my family is military and though it has brought us many futures.. it steals away all the innocence of our youths. I hated when they went away...excused my presence from the stories when they returned. Their eyes and souls were never the same....Very thought provoking write Moon...so many ways to turn and glance at ugly truths we wish to cover our eyes from. The children always seem to get the brunt of war.

This is a heart wrenching piece my friend. This is happening all over the middle east, some of the worst hatred filled acts are happening in Palestine. Not many people know the truth about all of that, judging my your picture I assume you do though. You write about it beautifully, keep writing and expressing the truth. Thank you for such a profound read.

wonderfully written Moon. I wish I could write something like this instead of in my abstract fashion. You touch upon a brutal reality.
