Children of War

Children of War

A Poem by MOON

All morning I await my fate

I hear guns and the sound of bombs

I fear now the hour is late

This my friend is not passing storms

You no longer shadowy forms

But men all black and eyes of hate

I fear your anger and power

Before you now I shall cower

Hold me on this fragile time span

Crush me in your blood spattered hand

I hold no politics no weight

Doomed ideology of State

Civil war will take me at eight

Shed no tears as I fall in strife

Old men play God with this young life

Shut windows of your soul spew hate

War and ego not a child’s ache

Grown men crushing me in their wake

this is the best thing i've ever read about this topic
well done.
as someone who was raised in war i can only say that everything you have said is absolutely true, painted in an aching tune
will it ever end?

:) i will. thanks. keep up these beautiful poems
innocence crushed by those who are older and should know better...but they don't---grown people engage in wars...not just wars with guns, but wars of words, like parents...and who suffers then..?

just the same...the children.

Indeed and we call ourselves civilised! Thanks for the review so appreciate your time.
Children are usually the worst casualties in wars between people. War except tears destroys every and each thing. A outstanding piece of writing. The image posted there really has an impact.

Thanks, will stop by soon, take care!
Yes, this is just another tragically unjust reality of war.
When will we truly draw the line; when will we finally "put ourselves out" to protect the innocent: Not a single drop more of our children's blood to feed the blood-thirsty monster called "War!"
An outstanding and significant poem--with impact!
