Lament

Lament

A Poem by MOON

Break me on the shore

Of the stone cold

Summer day

Breathe no more for

I have drowned

In blossom May

You are the cold August wind

That shrieks at my door

Crushing me as I fold

Break me on your shore

Your grey stone heart

I hear

Spring now in silence roar

Shut the heavy steel door

Once there was love

Now only war

The picture of the angel made me picture a war between good and evil, and the poem fit right along with that, which was an excellent write!

This is absolutely remarkable.. the whole experience... the image of ancient anguish... and your words the break us even still in the sadness.

Thank you for stopping by , most appreciated.
I can almost feel a chill in the air reading this one. I love how you utilized the seasons to mirror the differing degrees of despair and resignation. Great work my friend.

You express such emotions behind your words. I feel the pain and taste the desperation seeping into the air.

Brilliant write!

Many thanks , most appreciated!
While love spends ages germinating in depths, war renders the earth barren. While love is left waiting to come to life, war tortures itself to death.

Thank you , hope you well! Will stop by soon
I feel like there is an inner turmoil that flows and ebbs...in both acceptance and denial we find ourselves free with chains...if that makes any sense. Love the piece and the art that goes with it. Will surely return for more!

My absolute favourite from you. An incredible tour de force.

I'm not sure what you suggest by coinciding the seasonal emotions with the months of a year, perhaps a coincidental relationship that occurred exactly within the constraints of the months in a year? Either way, I quite enjoyed it.
