Midnight Flowers

Midnight Flowers

A Poem by MOON

Don’t tell me I am not to dance amongst the midnight flowers

Walk away pretend the hours of winning your core is done

That it is my heart you shun and there is no April showers

In the brace of your hold so tight your heart can’t be won

When the door slams on this fiery sunset your presence end our hours

Still I remember that in your weakening love flowers

Don’t tell me there can be no beauty in the breaking dawn

In that quintessential moment in eternity I was born

Breathtaking and beautiful...I'm at a loss for words. You have created a masterpiece. One of the best poems I've read in a long time!

100/100 midnight flowers

Many thanks , take care!
i agree with the "don't give up on us" theme...
i also see the idea here of two glorious events...a person being born...and love being born...
and both need to be appreciated immensely...
a life is worth more than anything material...and if two lives, two hearts get together...that love is worth as much.

Indeed Jacob nothing material is as precious as the heart , all kinds of love and the relationships .. read more
I've read some of the comments below and agree with them but I also hear the statement 'don't give up on us' too. Perhaps between the lines there is a joy and a happiness that is too important to let go of. Perhaps I'm wrong. Great job Moon.

Right on the button , take care hope all is well.
This is gorgeous, but i especially enjoyed the last four lines which are best relatable to the reader I think, there is a gentle beauty in this, an understanding of the machinery underneath the skin of poetry, lovely write.

Sometimes if you hold someone too tightly they rage against the chains that bind setting themselves free. You have to allow someone to be who they are or things will wither and die.

No one can dictate how you see the world...how you stare at the breaking dawn and drink in its beauty. No one can stop you from dancing in the moonlight....and no matter how broken hearted a person is after a lover leaves, that heartbreak need not rule one's life. Powerfully emotional. Your imagery is stunning. Lydi**
